Review: Miss Match - Wendy Toliver

I'm sure everyone is very excited because Miss Match by Wendy Toliver is coming out tomorrow!! (that's the 10th of February). And if you're not super psyched maybe you should be because Miss Match is one awesome book.

Basically, Miss Match is about 16 year old Sasha who dents her neighbour's car and then starts a match making business to pay for the damage. I interviewed Wendy Toliver, and she explains it much better than I can. Go read that :)

This book is part of Simon Pulses's romantic comedies for teens. I had a bit of a preconceived notion in my mind of what a romantic comedy was going to be like; a lot of fun, very romantic (obviously) and perhaps a little cheesy and cliche. I was definitely looking forward to reading Miss Match but I never expected just HOW MUCH I was going to enjoy it!

Seriously, the character's were fantastic. The main character, Sasha, is very believable; she's a bit self-conscious but she's also strong and confident and very funny! The other character's in the story were equally good; Sasha's perfect older sister, Maddie, who comes across as a bit ditzy at first but then shows her true colours as the story goes on.
I turn and start running back towards the fountain, my competitive spirit trumping my phobia of wearing my undergarments in public. But then Jace yells, "Nice panties!" and I'm embarrassed all over again.
The story was great... very funny and engaging. The light-hearted moments were balanced out by the more serious aspects of the story, like Sasha's parent's divorce and her feeling lesser than her popular sister. And it wasn't predictable! I know what I wanted to happen but I had to keep on guessing right to the very end.

I give it 4/5 stars :) Don't forget to read my interview with Wendy Toliver as well.
If you're looking for a really fun and interesting read, I definitely recommend Miss Match!
