Since the start of the year the finalists for the 2008 Cybils have been up... there are a range of categories but the one I was most interested in is the young adult fiction finalists.
The books that made the cut are:
- Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway
- Ten Cents a Dance by Christine Fletcher
- The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
- Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
- Sweethearts by Sara Zarr
- I Know It’s Over by C.K. Kelly Martin
- Thaw by Monica M. Roe
I'm ashamed to say I have read not one of these books on the list! I'm desperately trying to hunt them down and read some of them before the winner is announced on February 14th.
How many books have you read off the list? Who do you think deserves to win?

I have read Audrey Wait and plan to read the Lockhart book soon. My friend said he would send me Jellicoe Road. I had never heard of it and now I m seeing it all over the place.
ReplyDeleteI have Audrey Wait, Ten Cents a Dance, and I Know It's Over, but haven't had the chance to read yet. Other others, I don't have nor have I read.
ReplyDeletenice blog, interesting read!
ReplyDelete"Audrey, Wait" looks good. And I've "Frankie L-B" on my shelf from the library right now. My friend says it was great, so I'm hoping it'll live up to her compliments...
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of them. I might snag one or two also. Thanks for adding me to your blog roll. Your blog is really great.
ReplyDeleteOh, Disreputable History is absolutely grand! It's about guerilla art and feminism and taking down the status quo with humor and secret societies and guppies.
ReplyDeleteFantastic.
